Pyrolysis, Burn-off & Thermal Stripping Service
High-temperature thermal cleaning for complete removal of organic coatings and contaminants
Thermal Cleaning Technology

Pyrolysis burn-off is a thermal cleaning process that uses controlled high temperatures in a low-oxygen environment to decompose organic materials. This process is highly effective for removing paint, powder coatings, plastics, oils, greases, and other carbon-based contaminants from metal parts and tooling.

Our industrial pyrolysis oven heats components to temperatures between 350°C and 650°C, depending on the materials involved. In this oxygen-limited environment, organic compounds break down into volatile gases and ash, which can be easily removed, leaving the underlying metal substrate clean and undamaged.

This method is particularly valuable for cleaning injection molding tools, extrusion dies, and other manufacturing equipment where polymer buildup affects product quality. It's also ideal for cleaning paint hooks, powder coating fixtures, and other production tooling that accumulates multiple layers of coating over time.

Unlike mechanical or chemical cleaning methods, pyrolysis burn-off doesn't cause dimensional changes, mechanical stress, or surface damage to the metal substrate. It's safe for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and many other metals, making it a versatile solution for industrial cleaning challenges.

When to Use Pyrolysis Burn-off
Pyrolysis burn-off is the preferred method when you need to remove heavy organic contamination, multiple layers of coatings, or when other cleaning methods have proven ineffective. It's particularly valuable for restoring expensive tooling and fixtures that would be costly to replace.

This process is ideal when you need complete cleaning of complex geometries, internal passages, and areas that are difficult or impossible to reach with mechanical or chemical cleaning methods. The thermal process penetrates everywhere, ensuring thorough cleaning throughout the component.

Manufacturers often use our burn-off service to recondition production tooling, extending its service life and maintaining product quality. It's a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new equipment and reduces waste by enabling the reuse of valuable assets.
